After School Art / April: Pop Color + Illustration

Ages 8-12 / Tuesday, April 1-22 from 4:30-6 PM
Ages 5-8 / Wednesday, April 2-23 from 3:30-5 PM

DESCRIPTION: Explore color and creativity in the April sessions of After School Art with instructor Jen Aitchison. In this exciting class, we’ll dive into the science of mixing colors and the art of illustration.
Younger artists will focus on learning to mix colors and use the color wheel to make their creations stand out, plus they’ll create a special color wheel project. Inspiration will come from iconic Pop artists like Murakami Takashi, Warhol, and Lichtenstein.
Older students will be introduced to techniques inspired by the Postmodern Superflat Art movement, creating vibrant artworks that really pop. Using drawing, inking, graphite, and painting, they’ll explore dynamic ways to bring their ideas to life.
Get ready to experiment, learn, and make bold, colorful mixed media masterpieces!
After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-16. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!

CAC REFUND POLICY: No full refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. After the start of, or the day of, the educational program, no refunds or credits will be given. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
